Monday Musings #2 - Making magic

Welcome back to my Monday Musings: a random collection of thoughts, musings and ideas.
The scene is set.
A warm cup of tea.
My favourite Disney jumper.
Music from the parks in the background.
A stack of books on Disney, storytelling and theme park design next to me.
Even my lipstick is Mickey Mouse themed.
Today, I’m surrounding myself with a little Disney magic while working on my next keynote.
It’s all about getting into the right spirit. Cause if I’m going to talk about what engineering teams can learn from Disney, I want to feel that magic while writing it.
I want to go under the sea of memories of visiting the parks, exploring my mind for anecdotes and stories to add into the talk.
I want to be out there, see the floating lanterns of my thoughts gleam and to test the limits and break through.
So I’ll paint with all the colors of the wind, letting ideas flow as I go the distance and see how far I’ll go to search the horizon for new ways to bring this talk to life.
I want to capture that feeling of wishing on a star, of stepping into a whole new world of possibilities, and of dreaming of far off places.
It’s about creating the right environment to spark those ideas. To make the talk shine. To add a little magic.
Because sometimes, all it takes is a little intentional atmosphere.
And maybe a pinch of pixie dust.
See you next time,
Melinda
